Edale village is set in steep valley surrounded by glorious Peak District hills, including Kinder Scout, the highest point in Derbyshire at 2,088 feet. The village is a hive of activity in the summer when hikers and walkers congregate to set out across the Pennine Way as Edale is the start of the first and longest footpath in Britain. Although only 15 miles from Sheffield Edale is incredibly remote and is frequently cut off in the winter but at other times of the year it is very popular with tourists who come to enjoy the stunning views and facilities of the village (including shops and pubs). A recently opened Moorlands Centre at the start of the Pennine Way is a grass roofed eco-friendly information booth that has interavtive information on wildlife and their habitats. If you want to find Peak DistrictGroup Accommodation in one of the most beautiful areas then look no further than Edale.
