Group Accommodation in Brassington
Brassington in Derbyshire and the Peak District National Park, is an attractive limestone village perched on a hillside, some 800 feet above sea level. It was once a thriving centre at the heart of lead mining country, but things are much quieter now. Brassington has many cottages that date back to the 17th and 18th centuries, the eldest of which is the ‘Tudor House’ dates 1615. Rainster Rocks, above the village, enjoy wide open views and make a pleasant place for a picnic or just to enjoy the wealth of fauna growing here. Close by at Minning Low, Neolithic chambered barrows were discovered, a significant archaeological discovery of the time. The village has a lively community and boasts a post office (housed in the old toll gate) and several pubs. Brassington makes a great place for a Peak District Group Accommodation holiday.
