A short drive along the A52 takes you to Ashbourne, with its good shopping, cafés and restaurants; It's also the home of the famous Royal Shrovetide Football game played each Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday.
Derby’s theatres, cinemas and Crown Derby factory and shop are just 8 miles away. Dovedale and the Peak District National Park. Alton Towers, Carsington Water’s watersports and several National Trust properties also lie within a short distance.
